How these numbers are calculated
Every row uses the two standard formulas: hourly = salary ÷ 2,080 (40 hours × 52 weeks), and annual = hourly rate × 2,080. Daily pay assumes an 8-hour day; weekly is 40 hours of pay; bi-weekly is two weeks (26 paychecks a year); monthly is the annual figure divided by 12 — which is why monthly pay is a little more than four weekly paychecks. Our how-to-calculate guide works through the maths step by step, including paid time off and unpaid leave.
All figures are gross. What you actually take home is lower after FICA, federal and state income tax — the with-taxes explainer covers that honestly, without pretending to compute your personal tax bill.
